You may have heard the buzz about our opening night film (no one can keep a secret, anymore), so we’re here to officially tell you, BELIEVE THE HYPE!
We are thrilled to kick off the 30th San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (SFIAAFF) with none other than WHITE FROG, the highly-anticipated new film by celebrated director, Quentin Lee. WHITE FROG boasts a spellbinding cast of some of the most influential and recognizable Asian American talent today, including Booboo Stewart (you know, rock-hard abs from The Twilight Saga), Harry Shum, Jr. (the Asian dance machine from Glee), Kelly Hu (the bad-a sorceress from Scorpion King), B.D. Wong (Law and Order: SVU), and Joan Chen (The Last Emperor, Mao’s Last Dancer). This much-buzzed about film is written by the mother/daughter team, Ellie and Fabienne Wen and executive produced by Tony Award-winning playwright David Henry Hwang (M. Butterfly).
The screening will be followed by a star-studded Opening Night Gala Reception at the Asian Art Museum, attended by many of WHITE FROG’s cast and crew. The Gala promises to be a red-carpet affair and will feature delicious treats from some of the Bay Area’s most popular restaurants, including Bushi-Tei, Chotto, Dosa, Serpentine, and Yoshi’s.

In his new movie White Frog, Booboo Stewart leads an allstar cast that includes Gregg Sulkin, Harry Shum Jr., Tyler Posey and BD Wong. Booboo's character, Nick, who has a form of Autism called Asperger's Syndrome, must come together with his family and friends to deal with the untimely death of his older brother (Harry Shum Jr.).

Booboo Stewart joins "White Frog"
Production News
Twilight star Booboo Stewart (pictured) will take the lead role as a boy with mild Asperger's disease in White Frog, the upcoming drama by The People I've Slept With director Quentin Lee.The film, which also features Joan Chen, BD Wong, Margaret Cho and Glee star Harry Shum Jr, starts shooting in less than two weeks.
White Frog is produced on a budget of $1 million by Ellie Wen of California–based Wentertainment, alongside Joel Soisson of Neo Art & Logic and Chris Lee of Chris Lee Productions.
