They may have names like cartoon characters, but Booboo and Fivel Stewart are serious about lending their voices and status as teen celebrities to a worthy cause. The brother and sister, who have toured with teen singers Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato, will give a free concert Saturday in Tempe to raise money and awareness for Childhelp, a national organization headquartered in Scottsdale that works to end child abuse. The concert is one of only two in the nation.
Seventeen-year-old heartthrob
Booboo [Stewart] is best recognized for his portrayal of werewolf Seth Clearwater in "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," the third installment of the "Twilight" film series. He's also done stunt work on several films, including 2007's "Beowulf," and had roles on TV's "Everybody Hates Chris" and "CSI: Miami."
Fivel [Stewart], 14, has hosted Hawaii's "Blue Dolphin Kids" television program and appeared in the TV series "Dante's Cove."
Fresh off the blue carpet at last weekend's "Teen Choice Awards," Booboo (real name Nils) and Fivel (given name Trent) answer a few questions for fans.
Q: Where do the names Booboo and Fivel come from?
A: (Fivel:) When I was younger, I looked like the mouse (in the movie) "Fievel Goes West," so that's how I got it.
(Booboo:) My parents just gave me the nickname when I was a baby ... and it just stuck with me my whole life.
Q: A lot of people know Booboo as an actor, but you guys are also a music duo. What are you working on?
A: (Booboo:) We're working on an album right now; it's called "Change." It's a pop-electric-alternative feel. It's not too pop-ish, but it's not extreme hard rock music; it's more in between.
(Fivel:) He sings andplays guitar ... and I play piano, and I sing.
